Grace & Gown's founder Marina decided to open her own bridal location while shopping for her own wedding gown. Having worked in the bridal gown industry for a number of years, she had some understanding of how difficult it would be to find a gown that met her needs; however, nothing prepared her for the emotional rollercoaster she experienced while attempting to find a gown that met her standards of modesty without needing to make significant alterations to the gown.
While working in the bridal industry, Marina has coached many brides through the difficult emotions and struggles of the same journey, as well as the struggles and emotions of trying to find a store that carries gowns in the plus size range. Many brides have shared heart-breaking stories of shops only carrying gowns up to a size 18, and still only a few gowns even in that range.
It was in talking to these brides that Marina developed her passion for making each person feel beautiful inside and out. She believes that no bride should leave a bridal appointment feeling disheartened or disappointed. Marina hopes to share her passion and gift with each person that visits the boutique.
